Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-07-10

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Chartely(the “Service”), including the website, the REST API and the MCP server. By creating an account, uploading medical records, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

What the Service is, and isn’t

Chartely turns medical records you upload into a page-cited chronology (a dated event list, treatment gaps, and a narrative summary), exportable as Word, CSV or JSON, as a website, a REST API and an MCP server for AI agents. Chartely organizes the records you provide. It is not a law firm, does not practice law or medicine, and does not provide legal or medical advice. Automated extraction can misread a low-quality scan; every event carries a page citation and a confidence signal so you can judge it, but you remain solely responsible for reviewing the chronology before you file, submit, or otherwise rely on it. Chartelyextracts only what’s present in the records you choose to upload, you are responsible for having the right to upload and process any record you submit, including compliance with any applicable client-confidentiality or health-privacy obligations on your end.

Accounts & API keys

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials and API keys confidential. You’re responsible for all activity under your account and your API keys, including calls made by software or AI agents you configure with them. Tell us right away at hello@chartely.comif you suspect unauthorized access or a leaked key, and we’ll help you rotate it.

Plans, billing & usage limits

Chartely offers the following plans: Free (free), Pro ($49/month), Scale ($199/month). Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; your paid features remain active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and no partial-month refunds are issued except where required by law. Each plan carries a published monthly page allowance and rate limit (see Pricing); usage beyond the included allowance on Pro and Scale is billed as metered per-page overage rather than blocked outright, at the rate published on that page. The Free plan simply stops at its page allowance each month. We may change prices or quotas going forward, with notice before your next renewal.

Acceptable use of the API & MCP server

The API and MCP server are for building chronologies from your own case records or records you’re authorized to process, as part of your product, workflow or agent, fair use consistent with your plan’s published rate limit and monthly page allowance. You agree not to:

  • Exceed your plan’s published rate limit or attempt to circumvent it (key rotation, distributed calling, etc.);
  • Upload records you do not have the legal right to submit for processing, including records belonging to a third party without proper authorization;
  • Attempt to access other users’ accounts, API keys, uploaded records or chronology results, or reverse-engineer non-public parts of the Service; or
  • Interfere with the Service’s normal operation, including through excessive automated load outside your plan’s limits.

Free-plan exports carry a small attribution footer; paid plans remove it. We may suspend or terminate accounts, or revoke API keys, that violate this section.

Your data

You own the records you upload and the chronology results Chartely produces for you. We use them only to operate the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy, your source records are not retained after processing. You can export or delete your chronology results, and revoke API keys, at any time from your account.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, and without any guarantee that a chronology is complete, accurate, or suitable for a specific legal, filing or compliance purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chartely and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including a misread event, an unflagged gap, or a decision made by you or an agent you configure, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, or revoke API keys, for violation of these Terms or for non-payment on a paid plan, with reasonable notice where practical.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email before it takes effect.
