FAQ

Billing questions

What counts as a "page"?

One page of a record set you upload equals one page of usage, an 800-page case file uses 800 pages of your monthly allowance, however many events it contains.

What happens if I go over my monthly page allowance?

The free plan stops at 50 pages/month. Pro (1,000 pages/mo included, then $0.06 per page · API + MCP · batch to 25) and Scale (7,500 pages/mo included, then $0.04 per page · 600/min · batch to 200) meter overage per page instead of hard-stopping, so a busy month doesn't block a filing deadline.

Why is the free plan capped at 50 pages?

It's enough to run a genuine small record set and see a real chronology, so the free tier is a real product, not a locked demo. Real case files typically run 500-5,000+ pages, which is what naturally moves a firm to Pro.

What's the difference between Pro and Scale?

Pro fits a firm building chronologies regularly, with the API, MCP server and Word export included. Scale is for high-volume firms, record-retrieval shops and agent products building chronologies at volume, higher throughput, more batch headroom and an uptime SLA.

Do I need a paid plan to use the API?

The free plan is web-only, no API or MCP access, that's a Pro+ feature, alongside batch upload and Word export. See /developers for the full reference.

How does this compare to an outsourced chronology service?

Outsourced services typically charge $1.50-$4.00 a page with a 5-10 business day turnaround. See /vs-outsourced-services for a full comparison and an interactive calculator.
